MABL Manager Meeting 7 Jan 24
There is a google meet manager meeting on 7 Jan at 7pm. Common files in google drive have been distributed to managers via email.

Emphasis is required with scorebook keeping. All home teams are required to keep the official book and if not able to then the visitor team will keep the official book. Scorebooks are distributed to each team no later than draft day.
Rules: Managers need to review the 2023 rule book and propose changes. Once the rules have been updated, we will post on the site.
E-Waiver Link: All players new and returning must access to complete the liability waiver before doing any practices or games, no waiver, no play. Game Scoring and Schedules: Game On Mobile App will be used to distribute the game schedule, scores, and stats for the league. Managers must register for an account with game on mobile to report scores.
Current Year Manager Files are locted in the google drive: The manager files is where information about the current season can be found like rules, coaching resources. All links can be accessed through the use of tablets, smart phones, or computers.
CURRENT TOTAL TEAMS: 37 TEAMS
MSBL 50+ Structure: 3 Divisions named AAA(6 TEAMS)/AA(6 TEAMS)/A (6 TEAMS) playing 7 inning games with no new inning starting after 2:30. TEAM FEE is $3100
MABL 18+ Stucture: 3 Divisions named AAA(6 TEAMS)/AA(6 TEAMS)/A (7 TEAMS) playing 9 inning games with no new inning starting after 2:45. TEAM FEE is $3250
Team Fees are due by ALL by 1 April
ROSTERS/STATS: Team rosters will be imported from the waiver list as eligible players. Managers must update rosters and submit waivers using the google drive link by 1 April to be prepared for the first week of play. After the 1st week of play, maintain GameOn as the official roster. Managers report scores to via score reporting or text if experiencing troubles, enter player attendance at a minimum in GameOn for game tracking. Follow up with stats as time permits. GameOn website tutorial slides are located on the google drive. WEBSITE passwords will be in the google league rosters in the manager tab.

Annual Draft Date is designated: 17 Mar 24 Each team must bring a $200 security deposit which is not refundable or will not participate in the draft. 24 Mar 24 is the alternate date. $200 GOES TOWARD PAYMENT OF TEAM FEES. Advertising for the draft will be done through Facebook, Craigslist, and Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Office. Balls and scorebooks will be distributed on DRAFT DAY. Each team must secure your balls and books at Spurgeon.
Draft Order will be discussed in the slides of the annual meeting. All teams must have a representative.
Draft Process: Rule 3.b.3.b. MSBL DRAFT: players will be selected by either MABL or MSBL Division teams in order of the previous regular season standing (last-to-first). The MABL-AAA will draft first,with the MABL-AA and MABL-A following. All players over 45 will be drafted and play in the MSBL division. MSBL-AAA draft first, MSBL-AA, & MSBL-A follow. The MABL will draft players from the 3rd base dugout, the MSBL will draft those players 45 or over in the 1st base dugout. RECOMMENDATION: Teams that move up in the next higher division will get the first draft pick for that division, then the draft order will proceed as stated above.
2024 Tryouts/Draft will start at 12pm at Spurgeon Field. Hitting and Fielding skills will occur first with pitcher and catcher skills occurring last. Then, managers will select players in the order established above. MSBL has had limited participants in the past drafts. DO NOT RELY on the draft to fill your needs in the MSBL. MABL draft normally fills the team needs. Players need to bring their own ger and cleats.
We continue to develop the league website as time permits. IF we get the league statistics up and running, we will use them during the season on the website rather than GameOn. Game results will be reported via GameOn or text to me if troubles arise using GameOn.
