Finals Weekend in the MSBL
With inclement weather causing canceled games last weekend, the MSBL/MABL of Southern Colorado teams will engage in double headers on Sunday afternoon to try and take home the Championship Trophy in each division of play. The Game 3 of the series (if needed) will take place on 6 Oct at Spurgeon Field in Memorial Park.
In the MABL-AAA, the CS Bombers will attempt to defend their 2023 Championship in a rematch of the 2023 Championship Seires against the Rocky Mountain Marmots. Games start at 12pm at Spurgeon Field in Memorial Park.
In the MABL-AA, the CS Orioles will face the CS Yard Goats. This is the second year the Yard Goats have appeared in the Finals, falling short in 2023 to the CS Phantoms. Their double header starts at 12pm at Rampart Park.
In the MABL-A, the CS Marauders will take on the CS Shafters. The Marauders improved significantly this year moving from worst to first after a successful draft in March. The Shafters were idle last season by not playing in the league, but after returning, had their most successful season after struggling to put the team together at the beginning of the year. These teams play at Wasson Park starting at 12pm on Sunday.
In the MSBL-AAA, another rematch will take place between the CS Thunder and the SoCo Pistols. The Pistols will try to defend their 2022&2023 Championships against the Thunder. They play at 12pm at Scheels Field(#5) in El Pomar Sports Complex.
In the MSBL-AA, the CS Mariners will face off with the CS Zephyrs. This will be the first time the Champion will have their name scribed on the Division Trophy. These teams play a single game this weekend starting at 2pm at Sturgeon Electric Field(#6) in El Pomar Sports Complex. On Oct 6, they will potentially play a Double Header to determine the Championship.
In the MSBL-A Division, the CS Redbirds will take on the CS Banditos starting at 12pm on the Childrens Hospital Field (#4). The Banditos has the top record in the league sitting at 14-0-1 and owning a 180 run differential causing them to be a prime candidate to move up into the MSBL-AA Division for the 2025 season.
The MSBL game 3(if needed) will be played on 6 Oct at Scheels Field in El Pomar Sports Complex. Good luck to all teams this weekend. Have fun and enjoy the opportunity to play ball!
