Carter Gerber’s Big Day Propels Bombers Past Bandits

Carter Gerber drove in four runs on two hits to lead Bombers past Bandits 13-3 on Saturday. Gerber hit a home run to left field in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring one.

Bombers got on the board in the top of the second inning after Blayke Walsh singled down the right field line, and , each scoring one run.

Bandits tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to an error, and a single by Cory Carlson.

Bombers flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 8-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Gerber that drove in three.

Kyle Woodard earned the win for Bombers. The starter allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Gerber pitched four innings in relief for Bombers. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out two and walking none. Dylan Farinacci took the loss for Bandits. The starter went three innings, allowing eight runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking three.

Bombers tallied 17 hits in the game. Sloan Soulia led Bombers with three hits in four at bats. Walsh, Reed Stoltzfus, Woodard, and Brett Gelb each collected multiple hits for Bombers. Bombers ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.

Gerardo Reyes and David Hansen each collected two hits for Bandits. Yordan Madina and Carlson each drove in one run for Bandits. Bandits ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Next up for Bombers is a game against Rattlers on Saturday.
