Vipers Triumph Over Pistols

Vipers were victorious against Pistols 10-6 on Sunday.
Vipers opened the scoring in the third after Aaron Peller doubled, scoring one run.
Pistols jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Matt Woods singled to left field, and Coery Mclaughin singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Josh Hudson singled down the right field line, which helped Vipers tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.
In the bottom of the sixth, Vipers broke up the tie when Nic Bruntz singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Shai James followed to extend the lead to 5-2.
Casey Pickering earned the win for Vipers. The righty allowed five hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Mclaughin took the loss for Pistols. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs on eight hits, striking out 11 and walking two. Bruntz collected the save. Matthew Lasley appeared in relief for Vipers.
Vipers collected 11 hits in the game. Peller, Jared Booth, and James each collected two hits for Vipers. Peller and James each drove in two runs for Vipers. Tyler Biltimier stole two bases. Vipers turned one double play in the game.
Amato led the team with two runs batted in. Pistols’s Rockwell, the number seven hitter, led Pistols with two hits in four at bats.
