Grizzlies Loses Pitcher Duel To Pistols 3-2

Both teams were strong on the bump on Sunday, but CS Pistols ’25 was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over Grizzlies. Skyler Rorabaugh started the game for Grizzlies and recorded six outs.

Grizzlies were the first to get on the board in the second when Mike Wilson induced John Donohoe to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Rocky Rockwell grounded into a fielder’s choice, which helped CS Pistols ’25 tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

A double by Andy Katayama gave Grizzlies the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.

Tim Walker singled to center field on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, which helped CS Pistols ’25 tie the game at two in the bottom of the seventh.

Chasen Booher earned the win for CS Pistols ’25. The lefty gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Tim Brickler pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Grizzlies. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run while, striking out two and walking two. Bart Jennings took the loss for Grizzlies. The hurler went one inning, surrendering zero runs on zero hits, striking out none and walking one. Skyler Rorabaugh stepped on the mound first for Grizzlies. The pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking two. Mike Wilson stepped on the hill first for CS Pistols ’25. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one.

John Donohoe and Andy Katayama each drove in one run for Grizzlies. Josh Carrington led Grizzlies with two hits in three at bats. Jim Tapia stole two bases. Grizzlies turned one double play in the game.

Rocky Rockwell led CS Pistols ’25 with three hits in four at bats. CS Pistols ’25 were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Justinn Szpunar made the most plays with 11.

The win forces the final game in the best of three game series on 28 September at 12:30pm. The location is at Scheels Field.
