Bombers Victorious Over WarDogs COS

Bombers defeated WarDogs COS 4-3 on Sunday at Spurgeon.
WarDogs COS got on the board in the top of the first inning after Bombers committed an error, and WarDogs COS scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Bombers captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the fifth after Scott Blosser grounded out, and Russell Torres walked, each scoring one run.
Hunter Crisp earned the win for Bombers. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Josh Romero took the loss for WarDogs COS. The pitcher went four innings, giving up two runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking none. Kyle Woodard tossed four innings of zero-run ball for Bombers in relief. The righty gave up three hits, striking out one and walking four.
Kasey Campbell and Carter Gerber were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Bombers. Bombers turned one double play in the game.
Number eight hitter, Brett Reed, showed the depth of WarDogs COS’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Stephen Hayden and Kyle Zirbes each drove in one run for WarDogs COS. Todd Nieuwenhuis led WarDogs COS with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Kyle Zirbes stole three bases. WarDogs COS stole five bases in the game.
Next up for Bombers is a game against Yard Goats on Sunday.
