Pitchers Battle at Rampart

A pitching battle ensued at Rampart Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado between the Expos and the Prospectors. Both teams were strong on the mound on Sunday but the Expos prevailed 1-0 behind Pitcher Chris Price. Price started and finished the game for the Expos, recording 20 strikeouts.
The Expos scratched out a run in the first on an RBI groundout from Alex Gaddy that drove in Dan Cooper. That is all that Price would need. The righty allowed only two hits while walking two on the afternoon for his fourth win of the year.
Price lowered ERA on the season to 0.977 and also collected one of the Expos’ two hits on the day. Riley Hernandez collected the other hit for the Expos, a double leading off the seventh.
Reese Fetherston led the Prospectors also pitching a complete game allowing just one run on two hits and striking out fourteen. But the day belonged to Price who was nearly unhittable. The dominating performance saw him deal 90 total strikes on 129 pitches. It was the Expos’ fourth win in their last five games.
