Marauders Falls To BigFoot In High-Scoring Affair

Bats were blistered on Friday, but Marauders couldn’t quite get the job done against BigFoot and lost 16-11. BigFoot collected 12 hits, while Marauders had 13.

Marauders lost despite out-hitting BigFoot 13 to 12. Ethan Katlin, Blake Cottrell, Andrew Outlaw, Austin Tucker, and Jeremy Bodine each collected two hits for Marauders.

Marauders got on the board in the top of the first inning after Shirt Guy Black doubled down the right field line, and Andrew Outlaw singled to center field, each scoring one run.

BigFoot flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Corey Haberkorn that drove in two.

Blake Hayden grounded out, which helped Marauders tie the game at five in the top of the third.

BigFoot captured the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the fourth after Brandon Ward walked, and Bud Maison walked, each scoring one run.

Marauders made the score 8-7 in the top of the fifth after Blake Cottrell grounded out, scoring two runs, and Jeremy Bodine singled, scoring one run.

BigFoot flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 13-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Jackson Lehman that drove in one.

Shirt Guy Black stepped on the mound first for Marauders. The pitcher gave up 12 hits and 16 runs (13 earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking 13. Mason Lehman began the game for BigFoot. The starter surrendered six hits and five runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking three.

Marauders amassed 13 hits in the game. Jeremy Bodine went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.

BigFoot amassed 12 hits in the game. Number nine hitter, Jackson Lehman, showed the depth of BigFoot’s lineup, by leading them with three hits in four at bats. Bud Maison and Corey Haberkorn each drove in four runs for BigFoot. Jared Lehman collected two hits for BigFoot in two at bats. Jared Lehman led BigFoot with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 15 walks for the game. Austin Lehman stole two bases. BigFoot stole four bases in the game. BigFoot turned one double play in the game.

Next up for Marauders is a game at Nomads on Wednesday.
