Pikes Peak WARJACKS Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Pistols

Pikes Peak WARJACKS took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 1-0 walk-off victory over Pistols at FFCHS BLUE FIELD. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the seventh when Ethan Spice singled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Pikes Peak WARJACKS pitchers struck out three, while Pistols sat down eight.
Todd Nieuwenhuis earned the win for Pikes Peak WARJACKS. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Hunter McWilliams took the loss for Pistols. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking none. Vic Pulido led things off on the hill for Pistols. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.
Ethan Spice went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Pikes Peak WARJACKS turned two double plays in the game.
Dean Bernaldez, Aharon Enriquez, Ryan Schneider, and #23 each collected one hit for Pistols. Pistols turned two double plays in the game.
